Gorredijk is located in the Municipality of Opsterland between the towns of Heerenveen and Drachten. Due to its central location, the village has always been considered a pleasant place to live. It has good connections to public transport and is easy to reach by car. The many cycling and walking paths also ensure that young and old can continue to move safely through the area.

Gorredijk has been able to retain the small-scale village feeling and everything in the village can be reached within walking or cycling distance. The center has several squares with shopping facilities and the main street has a wide sidewalk on both sides where various shops and eateries are located.

At the end of the main street there is a short promenade along the Turf Route, which is full of boats during the summer period and thus creates a cozy atmosphere. In winter it is even possible to skate on the canal when there is heavy frost. And what should certainly not be forgotten is the Wednesday market that has been held since 1694. Gorredijk is definitely worth a visit!
